Location information for Turkey

Turkey is best explored by rental car. ERentals has over 45 pick-up locations in Turkey. This means there is always a pick-up location close to your destination.

The Mediterranean country of Turkey is found on what people like to call the gateway to the east. Its location bordering Europe and Asia gives this country a wild fusion of east meets west, noticeable in its infrastructure and culture. Using car hire in Turkey to tour the country is one of the best ways to explore.

The country's capital, Ankara, is awash with some of the most famous tourist attractions Turkey has to offer and is easily reached by cheap car rental in Turkey. The Museum of Anatolian Civilisations and the Presidential Mansion are just two of these sites to visit and with Ankara being a very old city, there are many ruins of old buildings to admire.

There is also a nice selection of coastal towns to explore, including Bodrum with its narrow streets and bazaar style markets at every turn, and the yacht harbour is picture perfect. There are also regular ferry trips to the nearby Greek island of Kos. Cafés back the harbour for people to sit and take in the sights of this once small fishing village.

Ankara and Istanbul both have major international airports and are excellent places to hire a car. The natural beauty of the Turkish landscape makes it spectacular, from the Aktepe Valley in northern Cappadocia to the towering rock formations with many hidden tunnels and caves in Uscisar.

Istanbul is the centre of Turkey and the second capital; most of the traditional folklore originates from here and the surrounding areas. The Turkish sultans have been residents here since the 15th century in the Topkapi Palace. The Istiklal Caddesi is a suburb that has many restaurants to choose from and the evening entertainment is done in traditional style.
