Bergerac is a market town in France which is primarily known for its wine and tobacco production. Getting to Bergerac isn’t a problem at all since they have flights linked to UK airports. Although Bergerac isn’t at all a huge town with flashy and clever attractions, it’s the perfect place for those who want to experience some tranquility and relaxation. There are several places of interest in Bergerac. One of which is the museum of tobacco. Funny thing about the museum though is that there is no smoking allowed. Another museum worthy of a visit is the Wine and Inland Waterways Transport Museum. It houses a collection of objects, photographs and archives of various things related to the heritage. One interesting thing to do in Bergerac is to stroll around the areas of Vieille Ville. Along your strolls, you can see a lot of medieval houses. Outside on Bergerac’s town square, you can see a statue in honor of Cyrano de Bergerac, the main character in Edmond Rostand’s play. If you appreciate relaxing views of nature, then the Dordogne River won’t disappoint you. It is one of the cleanest basins in all of Europe. Overall, this isn’t the place to be if you’re looking for parties and exciting activities, but it sure is a great place for those who are looking for a perfect and peaceful place for a vacation. Getting a cheap car hire in Bergerac is also a good idea to make sure that you have no worries at all.
